Great Forum!!!!!

Just bought my first truck. Is a 42-46 I think. All I have seen are pictures. I get the truck in a few weeks.

1. Truck has duals - does that make it a 1.5 ton?

2. When I get the truck, where would I locate factory ID/VIN?

Thanks for any help.

Hey Donny,
Just because the truck has duals, does not nessecarily make it a 1.5 ton. It could be both a larger 2 ton or a smaller 1 ton. As for the factory VIN, it should be printed on a piece of metal either on the firewall or on the driver's side door jam. This pannel will also give you the truck's GVW wich will allw you to determine if it is in fact a 1.5 Ton.

Donny!

Congratulations on your purchase. You'll get lots of enjoyment from it and a ton of help from the 'Stovebolt Page'. Welcome!

Here's another spot to look for the VIN. This picture shows it in the lower left corner.

Donnymac,

Don't forget to visit our IT Short Bus. That's a good place to learn some tricks - for the computer and for the forum. Squeeze offers a lot help.

And when you get to it, be sure to send your truck in for the Gallery so we all can see it.

Welcome to the Stovebolt Collective!
