Can I use a 8.25x15 tire on a rim that has a 8.25x20 tire on it?
Found the 15's cheaper and seeing if its comparable

Since the last number in the sequence is the rim diameter in inches- - - - -NO! The hole in the middle of the tire would be 5" too small! Good luck getting it to stretch over a 20" diameter rim!

8.25 = section width = width of tire mounted on wheel (may be slightly wider than tread width)
15 = rim diameter in inches

My tires 215 / 70 x 16

215mm = section width
70 = aspect ratio = height of sidewall from ground to rim = 70% of section width = 150.5 mm
16 = rim diameter in inches

Otto, I've encountered a few tires labeled with the rim diameter in millimeters- - - - -now, that can really get confusing!

No doubt!

Luckily once I find a size that works on a particular vehicle, I never change.
