I’m afraid it might be a California applied number. Supposed to be a 1950 maybe a Suburban or Panel, it’s had some work done on the body.

I suspect your suspicions may be correct regarding the California issue. Just to verify, these are stamped on the vehicle identification plate on the drivers door pillar, correct?

No door post plates only numbers on a title. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

Martin, can you have your brother check the Engine stamp and see if it matches what's on the title? That's the first place I look for a pre 55 Chevy VIN.

It would have a Letter/Number sequence like: DMV12345CA
Usually installed when the Serial/VIN number is missing or damaged.
