I hope this is the most correct forum for this question. What are the differences between the standard and deluxe heaters for the Advance Design trucks?
Thanks

The standard recirculating type heater does just what the name implies. It only reheats the air inside the cab by recirculating it around in a closed circuit. The deluxe “fresh air” heater connects to the outside air by being bolted to the kick plate over the louvred side vent. It pulls in outside fresh air to be heated. I believe a later fresh air model had a door that could be closed shut via a cable that would block off the colder outside air. All 3 models have a lever that can divert the warmed air to defrost the windshield.

Those with more expertise in heaters will give more precise details.

As far as my recent knowledge on the subject, that is pretty spot on.
I'm working on restoring a 'fresh air' setup. The big problem which could cross over to the recirculating model is the 'Ranco' heater thermostat. If you are looking for full restoration specs, that might be a pricey brick wall. I'm opting for the Ranco t-stat placement for looks but putting in a mechanical on/off coolant shutoff valve to the core using the old 'T' throttle cable to control from the dash during cold/defrost days.
