My 1953 235 6 cylinder has a head that has two different mounting options for the valve cover. I have attached a photo. I'm curious about tapped holes in the head to screw the valve cover on and it also has two posts for the current valve cover.
I guess my question is did they use two or has this been modified?

Someone put the bolts to hold a older cover on it maybe to make it look like a 216.

You have a later motor, '53 was last year for the two studs on the valve cover. Be interesting to check the numbers and see what year the motor actually is. I've ran the two stud cover on several 235s up to 1962.

Find and post the following codes found on the head and on the block:

1. Engine Serial Number
2. Head Casting Code
3. Head Date Casting code
4. Block Casting Code
5. Block Date Casting code

I thought about doing that on the 235 I have in the ‘46 just for the aforementioned reason, but I just didn’t get around to it.
