I recently got a hold of a 1965 C-60 and it needs alot of work. Especially brakes and clutch.
Any ideas?

It all depends on what you can do yourself. Thats some HD stuff. It depends on what you want to do with it. If you start takeing it to shops to have work done you will probably run into a nightmare. If you made a fantastic buy on it you might turn it for a quick profit.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

The clutch would be kind of rough unless you have a good flat concrete driveway or pad to work on. You might need to rent a transmission jack for a couple of days.Once the tranny is out,the rest of the job is much the same as it would be on a car. I believe you'll have to block up the rear of the engine and remove the bellhousing, that'll be six bolts into the block and 2 bigger bolts, the rear mounts.
On the brakes, get the truck on stands, all four corners, and do one side at a time so you can compare if you aren't sure how something fits. You can probably have a diesel truck shop or a brake rebuilder reline your shoes;that may or may not be cheaper than replacing them. As much as I hate to spend the money,I prefer buying wheel cylinders and master cylinder to re-building them;that's a lot of weight to have depending on any less than professionally rebuilt hydraulic parts. In your case, there'll be 2 wheel cylinders per rear wheel. It's a good idea to replace the flex hoses, and take a really good look at all the hard lines;replace anything that sits in a moisture trap (i.e. a low spot where water or mud stands in the frame)or shows signs of more than light rust or corrosion. You'll want to measure the drums and decide from that and the finish whether to have them turned. (Unless they're really chewed up,they'll probably be okay.) You'll probably not have to do anything to the booster, not much goes wrong with them.
This work is all do-able for most people if they have access to a transmission jack and a brake rebuilder. Main thing is to be safe and don't try to rush the job. I'm sure more 'bolters will have more info to help you.
Have fun!

easier to put a pipe from dash to seat and lower the trans with a come along from the inside.
Here is the site for my C-60 you might find something useable there.
