All, since we have not been together much due to other circumstances. I would like to invite the ODSS brothers to a weekend on my family's farm. The dates will be May 13,14 and 15. I will be taking Friday the 13th off. If anybody would like to arrive Thursday the 12th, please don't arrive till after 3:30pm. There is a haybarn we can wrench in, and a lot of room out and around said barn. Accommodations will be exactly the same as Winchesters set up. Sleep under the stars, in the barn or on your truck, so bring your cots. There is plenty of room for trucks and trailers to bring your projects. You may also bring a tent or motorhome. NO HOOKUPS. If you bring an RV. We can provide water to keep your water tanks full. There is a pumphouse for that purpose and to wash up. Also, porta potties will be provided. Power for lights and chargers and other tools may be an issue. Maybe, we only have 2 or 3 outlets in 2 buildings. As this moves along, I will provide a map of the property so getting back to the farm is easy. This farm does work, and family members will be in and out to feed the cat and there will probably be hogs to feed. Let's get some discussion going and start planning a great weekend

Sounds like fun Mikey. Thank you!
If electricity is an issue I have no problem bringing my big inverter(quiet) generator for wrenching, lights, etc.

Sounds like a great time! This might be the perfect event to get the old 1950 NAPCO 6100 loaded up. The poor guy has been sitting for at least 10 years without being started.

Sounds like a hoot! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it there until Saturday morning-as early as I can. Don't know how much help I'll be, but I'll get there for sure. As it develops, let me know what to bring. I do have a couple of small generators (Honda E2000) if they are needed.
Thanks for the invite!

Mike B, I don't think there will be much to set up. You'll be my first call. Victor, I have 3 outlets we can use and Billys Generator. We should be ok on the generators unless you need one for yourself. Joe, if you can bring down one of those wonderful engine stands so I can restart my 261. All, the barns have no lights. We only have lights in and on the pumphouse and lights in the stripping house. We can stretch cords. Some tripod LED lights would help.

I have made my reservations at the "Quigley House" Hotel. It's next door to "The Marlow" (a very swanky joint but not half as much fun as the Quigley ...). I will most likely be with the other woman in my life (a German gal most of you know). I will be self contained with my own power (which I will not share with anyone because that's how I roll ...). I may share coffee ... but Marlow's is better ... Just sayin' ...

I like my coffee at 0500, so don't get all twerped out when I fired up the military surplus diesel generator from Heck that sounds like three apocalypses ...

I will be commuting back and forth by the "Club Car Express". Fresh coffee in hand and bright eyed and bushy tailed. Ready for the morning jocularity. If John brings that big old gennie, he can sleep under the "Lights Of DJ;s" at Campsite #1. 200 yards away. The final decision will be made by the camp commandant and other camping members.

I have attached a picture to map the way back to the barn. You will come onto Flora Corner Road and turn right into my driveway and follow it back. My cell phone # is 301-904-8683. You can see the barn from the turn on Flora Corner Road. My driveway trees are cut back so trucks and trailers don't get scratched up. there is plenty of room for parking trucks and trailers. Hopefully this picture posts correctly.

Billy, Just because we've never not invited him yet, doesn't mean that at some point in the endless stretch of time that comprises "Never" that we, for whatever reason (and the number of those reasons could be infinite, as well -- keeping in mind that "None" is as scary big a concept as "all") might not come up with a reason.

Does "Never" also cover alternative universes and realities, of which there are possibly an infinite number? Who's to say that in some other reality (covered by the all-inclusive specificity of "Never") we have not already not invited Victor?? Maybe in some other reality, he is evil. Or we haven't met him yet. Or he got into stamp collecting instead of old trucks.

And don't wag your fickle finger of condemnation at me -- YOU started it, mr. Moderator!

Harrumph!

All y'all,

Mikey, thanks so much for the invite to what is shaping up to be a memorable event! Regretfully, I won't be making it, I committed to an event on the same weekend a year ago.

I've been doing well and staying busy.
Over the past couple years I have rebuilt my rear axle and thus completed the Bendix brakes to all four corners conversion, added a dual brake master cylinder, re sleeved the pedal assembly, plumbed the brakes with copper/nickel tubing, rebuilt the front and rear leaf springs with EZ glide liners.
This past Winter I completed the truck bed with Brazilian Ipe, repurposed from a deck, the job really came out incredible. I helped Tim Welsh (by mostly staying out of his way) while he expertly milled the boards. Grigg generously provided a Tung oil/Citrus blend of finish that was extremely user friendly and provided a delicious scent in my little garage.
Last winter I rebuilt an overdrive I had for Hambone and three of us, Hambone, Grigg and I installed it last Fall. Hambone reports that the transmission is working like a Swiss watch.
Early this Spring helped Grigg prep wheels for Billy Marlow. They came out beautiful after powder coating.
I'm working with Grigg on his Timber Frame Carts and all sorts of projects too numerous to mention, for ourselves and others.
Next project I'm working on is getting my 261 prepped for installation. I have to honor all the great work and generosity of DJ and Pop and of course amazing machining work by Master Machinist Grigg (he officiated the marriage of Mr. Clifford Intake to Ms. Fenton Exhaust). Besides, the 261 is long overdue.

Happy trails, all the best to you and yours!

Cosmo, you’ve been extremely productive and I look forward to seeing it.

John, I think we all know by now that realities are real to the extent they are embraced by the believer. Consequently, Billy’s “never” is likely not the “nevers” you referred to.

AND, maybe you should consider not smoking that stuff for a while᠁..or smoke more of it᠁..depending on your reality.

With love in my heart ❤️

Mike .... Victor will explain it to you... But to put it more simply -- All that I'm purporting to provide are probability connections between subsequent impressions of the consciousness, and even though the dividing line between an observer, whose consciousness is being affected, and the observed physical object can be shifted towards the one or the other to a considerable degree, it cannot be eliminated. Yes?

Victor -- Thanks. That's probably the best advice I've received in a LONG time ... smile In my case, though, the reality I perceive myself to be in at any particular point in time more or less depends on Schrödinger's cat and the unique and particular relativistic modality that the cat induces as sort of a lensing effect affecting one's perception of of time's spectrum and our individual placement therein. But as with Hereclitus the Obscure, one never steps in the same stream twice so one can never be sure. I think ...

Peace love out

I'm puttingthe Wigner down and going back to Winnie the Pooh ...
