I was able to source a set of 3.55 R&P gears for my 46 1/2 ton. This thread is multi-purpose, and forgive me if it needs to go into the parts wanted forum.

For those that have done the R&P conversion, any and all advice, suggestions, do's and don'ts are greatly appreciated. Procedures, tool recommendations ect.

I have been following Deve's torque tube rebuild/overhaul article. It contains a very comprehensive parts list as far as installation parts are concerned.

I have located the majority of parts from several different suppliers. I can not locate the differential side bearings (Hyatt #KA-11445-Z), the Front pinion bearing (New Departure #5306), and the Rear pinion bearing (Hyatt #OR1506/46B or C-1506). These manufacturers and part numbers are from the Deve's list. Does anyone know of anyone or anywhere I might be able to source them. Or, do you have alternative part manufacturers and numbers.

If you current diff is in good working order…………….just replace the gears, all that’s needed is a shim selection. Bearing can all be reused with no problems.


YES…………I get the concept of as long as I am in there I will replace everything in sight……….but………..it might not need everything. Mine was fine reused all the bearings.
