If you haven’t done so already, go to the above website and register your truck. You are asked to post a photo of your truck and furnish the VIN to verify the truck is real. For registering you will receive a free membership package containing a premium quality trucker cap and a packet of truck cards with photos and statistics from 1918 and up showing each body style change. It takes about a month for your free gift to arrive. The site is operated by the Chevy Marketing Division.

I registered a couple of years ago and didn't need a photo. They send goodies on occasion. When they asked what my credentials were for applying, I wrote that I have owned and driven At least one GM truck from each decade from the 50's to 2011, they thought that was good enough to let me in.

They let a '61 GMC slip in.

I tried but looks like it’s for only USA .It would not accept postal code and did not have Canada as a choice .Oh well.

John, I don’t understand why you or your truck don’t qualify. I can understand the Canadian guys not being able to register. The site is a part of the Chevrolet USA Marketing Division and has been around for a few years now. Everyone I know who has registered has gotten their swag as promised and every so often some new swag shows up in your mailbox. Sorry your having trouble with it.

I just looked into it and they want a VIN (probably a modern one, not like a AD has), and an odometer reading of over 100k miles.

The VIN is only to verify that your truck is real. They search the data base to determine if its a real VIN or something someone made up. My ‘62 doesn’t have a modern 16+ digit number and they took it without any trouble. They do ask some questions about you that if you don’t want the info made public, you have to go back into your settings and make them private, after your registration is approved.

You could try sending them an email so they could either manually create an account for you or let you know about expansion plans.

Martin -- I didn't get past the homepage where it says you either have to own a Chevy truck with more than 100,000 miles on it, or you have to have purchased (or leased) more than 1 new Chevrolet truck. As I meet neither of those criteria, I didn't press any further. My '49 has less than 70k on it and I've only ever bought one new Chevy vehicle.

Maybe they found out about all the Chrysler products I've purchased new ...

Or that my daily driver is WAY cooler than any Chevy in its class (WAY cooler.... Remind me to tell you the Quigley Ford vs. GM "Contingency Spares" story sometime)

But still ... of all people to turn away at the door like vermin ... ME???

Doesn’t say anywhere that the truck has to run. Use the VIN off of the parts truck you drug home. If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying. They for sure are not coming to your house to verify mileage.
I do have a friend who’s been registered for more than 4 years and he averages a freebie about every 3-4 months.

Are you sure it hasn't rolled over at least once? Who's going to check? That 100K miles thing is way too restrictive IMO.
My '51 has at least 100K, just by looking at it when I got it. No need to check the odometer.

I registered my 59' this afternoon, just the VIN and a picture. I received an email shortly after saying they accepted my request.

After all the lectures we get here (and rightfully so) about what's legal and not legal, etc., etc. I realize this isn't same as doctoring the title on a drivable truck, or switching serial number plates, etc., but still......

Good point Rich. In John’s case, it is a real truck with a real VIN and over 100,000 miles and Chevy doesn’t care if it’s running and driving. All they want is your info in their database. No harm no foul.

I just signed up. I was also rejected at first because my odometer is busted and I don't know the actual miles. I just assumed if your truck was over a certain age it would automatically qualify as a "qualifying truck". I just changed it to 100,000 and they accepted my application.

I'm fairly certain my life won't be diminished significantly by not being in GM's database. I can probably live without trinkets.

I figured "what the heck" - I like getting freebies.

I posted 100,000 to 150,000 and got in.

If I get hats/etc, I'll give them to my grandchildren (they'll be getting the trucks).

Today must have been hat day, I read John's post and found mine wait for me at home. After 35 years in the Service I don't wear hats that often now but I may make an exception for this one, pretty cool hat.

It is a very nice quality hat.

I'll put it on my 24-hat hanging-down hat-rack.

I try to rotate through my collection of "base-ball-style" caps/hats (started about 50 years ago).

I just go mine a couple days ago. My son also received his last week. After this post originally went up I imagine they got a flood of new members.

My hat (and trading cards, stickers) arrived yesterday. Wearing it today.

Glad to see everyone getting their swag! Every few months you will get another small gift.

This 25' tape recently showed up in my mailbox.

My package arrived this week as well. I really like the hat. The trading cards are neat as well.
