Kevin 1951 Chevy 3100 work truck Follow this saga in Project Journal Photos 1929 Ford pickup restored from the ground up. | 1929 Ford Special Coupe (First car) Busting rust since the mid-60's If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
Type AR 3 piece rim, has a square cross section lock ring visible in the photo You can see the gap of the locking ring
And if that’s a Canadian truck it would be the expected rim at the time it’s virtually the only type I’ve ever seen on these trucks up there in that time range. Two part rims popped up more later I also own the widow makers but can’t say for sure which vehicle they came to me on at the moment But the AR is the most prevalent -s
The rims on my 52 are 2 piece Canadian made Kelsey wheels. No problem getting them serviced by truck shop as said above. Picture shows the lock ring clearly. On the opposite dished in side there is stamped in sizing and manufacturers markings.
Yup that ring the split goes to the edge Not just the split in the smaller locking part One of the 2 or 2.5 tons I got have some funny rim like that but I don’t use it It’s sinking into the dirt slowly I like the three part one because slow and steady gets them apart without much grunting Just massage it and it will go without much effort but it takes a while to work it all around the bead several trips just working it slowly -s
klhansen That rim cross section shows a lot, can't hardly get my x-ray vision to see that with the tire on there. Have a full set of widow makers with 90% rubber on a 51,000 mile truck,so mostly just stay out of their way and use em !
