I'm using an outboard gas can in the bed of my '48 because I'm suspicious of the long-sitting gas in my tank. It's been there for a long time.

I primed my newly installed 2100S with the squeeze bulb. If the bulb is over-squeezed very, very firmly, could I gotten fuel past a closed inlet needle, filled up the bowl and have the gas overflow while priming? Could the needle hold against fuel pump pressure but not my super strong right fore-arm?

The float is properly adjusted (15/32" and 1 1/4") with a new Viton tipped needle.

Thanks!

Just like on an outboard motor, stop squeezing as soon as you feel more pressure. I suppose if you were Popeye, you could force the needle open. But that's just extra exercise. wink

Why not connect a fuel pressure gauge and see how much you can squeeze? Try your left hand too.
