I have a 63 k10 with a broken rear leaf spring hanger. These are the cast iron ones and I need the passenger side rear of rear position. After months of looking I’m about to give up. I’ve seen where hangers were used from a later model, but wondered if anyone here might have the original part before I formally give up on it. Thanks!

I added pics so you can see the part, also took one of the drivers side to show what it’s supposed to look like. The shackle should be clamped to the hanger but the clamp part broke off. I’m told the same part was used on c20s and c30s. Appreciate any help I can get.

Do you have a pic of the piece you need? A 1 ton has the same leaf spring setup as your K10 so you can expand your search.

If you want help, post good clear pictures and identify what is broken. Where broken. Which piece is broken.

Gritch, Welcome to the sight and to the 60-66 group. Glad you are with us. Depending on what you need, check in with the guys at R & M Springworks in Bladensburg. You may be surprised with what they know and what they can get their hands on.
They can get you info about part number and what is compatible, if not else. I agree with Joe. Your search goes beyond 1/2 ton.

Ideas if part not found:

Ubolt. https://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-information/u-j-bolts/u-bolt-round-bend-dimensions.aspx

You could also simply drill a hole down thru that flat and put a bolt in it. But that would block the grease hole.

Machine a part.

Or of course, a trip to the salvage yard.

My K20 had similar damage to both sides. I was able to get a couple of good used from diligent online searching. K10 and K20 are the same. C20 & C30 with rear leaf springs are also the same. I may have one or two used that are leftover that are much better then yours but they won't be perfect. I will look for them if you want. I may have tossed them on the last metal scrap cleanup. Also the cast shackles come up on e-bay new old stock as well I probably have one or two but would like to keep them for spares. I can send photos that show the part numbers. All of this shackle stuff has to be in good shape with good fitting parts or the truck will handle poorly. If you use good parts with no slop and keep it greased up they will last forever. And yes, do not overload the truck... I guess I can't post any photos here except by link. I'm linkless, sorry... If you need more info just ask...

Missed that ebay listing, it’s already sold. But will keep an eye out for that part number. Thanks!

Packard Joe, if you do have the right rear hanger I’d be interested. I’m comfortable getting a decent one built up and ground down to spec. I think my shackles are okay but won’t know for sure until I tear it down. Thanks!

If you really want help somebody get a really rare part, you PM them. So that 10,000 people don't read it and grab it like someone did.
But I realize it was a 3 poster helping a 3 poster. The intent was good.

Gritch, I looked through my stuff and did not come up with any rear hangars. I likely tossed them during a cleanup and I emptied my scrap metal barrel a few weeks ago. I did find a couple of front hangars but they are not the same as the rears. Info too, pretty sure the hangars are the same left to right, just not front to back. Check Aspen Auto also. I got odd stuff from them in the past.

I’ve talked to Aspen and they have them but want to sell the set of 4 for a really high number. Can’t believe I missed that one on eBay, that’s what I get for taking the wife to dinner! At least I have the right part number now and better info to keep searching for. Appreciate you looking thru your parts.
