It's not rhythmic, which you would expect if it were some sort of valve train or piston problem. The motor sounds good. I think the first thing I would do is take the valve cover off and see if there's anything loose under there. It could be something metallic just bouncing around in there. The noise ended up being a bent push rod. If you started a sleeping engine without doing a lot of preliminary work, including using a clean gas tank, you've probably got more problems on the way. Varnish and gum from stale gas gets dissolved when fresh gas is added to an old tank, and it ends up in the valve guides. Broken rocker arms and bent valves from contact with the piston tops are other possibilities.
