changing the 51 1 1/2 ton to 12volts negetive ground this week. the weather FINALLY cooled down to reasonable this morning, so, new starter, battery, voltage resister, ballast resister, and generator.

gonna yank the behind the seat gas tank and toss it, install a saddle tank, and go with an electric fuel pump.

gonna try to drive this puppy in a month or less!

To drive is the purpose of having a truck!

OH YEAH! it's been a long time since the bubblenose hit the bricks, and with health and money issues, and workin' my backside off in between i figure it's way past time for a road trip.

Way ta go Kool, Glad ta hear the 'ol Bubblenose, is about to make a grand entrance, to the open Hi-way again. It's noth'in like go'in down the road, watch'in all the other drivers, & spectators, stop what they are do'in, to watch ya go down road. My '52 450 series COE, evidently was ordered without the cab tank. It had some kind of Factory looking plug, in place of the filler neck. It had a frame mounted side tank, on it when I first purchased it. I later, added a inside cab tank, & a Snyder Saddle tank. I have recently, removed the Saddle Tank, & fifth wheel, so I can get the frame ready, to drop that Holmes W45 Wrecker, onto.

howdy spank! got a start tonight. generator is an s.o.b. to get at. had a coolant leak so i figured i'll go through the front to change it, and check to radiator at the same time. somebody put a brand new radiator in the thing--then forgot to tighten the top clamps. not sweatin' the radiator thing as there's plenty of farm dirt and alittle rust to treat. it's pretty obvious g.m. did alot of "punting" when they built these things. everything is hard to get at. conventional cab guys got it easy.

after checking out 2 generators i have had laying around for awile, and finding them both not in the best of shape, and 40 bucks for a replacement regulator i bought an alternator with an internal regulator. looks like the shaft is the same size as the 6 volt generator so i don't have to mc giver the pulley, just change it.

it's been too long since i had a project to keep my mind and body busy. good to be gettin' dirty again!

yaknow, ya really can't see stuff like the front of the engine, or other stuff due to the sheetmetal. heater hoses are crimped too. gotta put on new and figure a better way to run them.

did i mention conventional guys got it easy?
