The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Interiors 1941 pickup window rubber scraper

Someone else must have run into this problem and came up with a created fix. I bought a a window channel kit from The Filling Station. Old parts removal went great until it came to the small rubber scrapers. It says that the pieces must be slid into metal retainer channel. HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE CHANNEL. The top part was ok but I can not get to the groove on the bottom. Is there a special tool that I need? If I have to use heat how much before I blister the paint. Have spent two days on this and I don't want to skip over it.
Old guy is getting very fustrzted.

The rubber kit I purchased forewarned me that the channel would need to be spread open to remove the old rubber and insert the new. I did this yesterday with good results. I used a small tip screwdriver, paper towel and WD40.

Thank you. As soon as they ok me to go into the garage.i will try it. I just bought a fine point grout scraper. Plan to heat the point and try that. Will post the results.
