I'm finishing up the build of a mostly stock 41 AK pickup. (57 235, dual Stromberg 97's) and temperature sender from the supplier is a small sender that I need a bushing where it goes into the head. Does anyone know the thread size (I think its ⅝-16),and how I can get a bushing that size? Will try to post photos shortly.

The ususal parts vendors have the adapter you need, so you can still use original sender. Try Chevs of the 40s or The Filling Station

Here you go! Look at the part below, a simple threaded adapter wont seal like the one below, has an internal seat that makes the seal.

OK, that was the wrong part. What arrived had the ID of the bushing I need to have as an OD. So I think I have an early head, and my new sender does not fit, nor the bushing from the filling station.

Ahah! I found it... I made my own..

So I was trying to find a brass bushing that fit, but none could be found with the external ⅝-18 threads, and the ⅛" internal.
I found a correct ID bushing, and tapped the outside (died?) to fit the ⅝-18 threads.
The tap cut the soft brass like butter and lo and behold (what is "lo"), it came out perfect. Shown is the sender in the bushing, in the head for a fit check. Will goop it up with pipe sealant when assembly is final
