Have a chance to buy a 235 1955 GMC motor was told it is 2" longer than the 216 that is in there now will it fit without a lot of screwing around? And can some of the parts from the 216 work on the GMC motor? Any help would be great. Thanks!!! 1-262-392-2989 or mribbich@wi.rr.com

GMC never had a 235, 228 was the smallest, full oil pressure engine. SN stamped on machined pad behind distributor starts with displacement, I. e. 228xxxx. GMC should bolt right up to your Chevy bell housing, etc. GMC engines up to 302 will all look the same.

The F248 will be a GMC Engine. Yes, GMC engines are about 2” longer than Chevys. It will require moving the radiator forward.
