| | | | Joined: Jul 2020 Posts: 112 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2020 Posts: 112 | ive tried to find some sort of kit but it seems us 1bbl guys are left out of the mix. i am searching for someone who makes a plate style wet kit for our 6cyls, cost efficiency is the name of the game here and i have an entire nitrous setup, but i am missing a plate for it to screw into, and i cannot find a 1bbl plate, anyone know of one?

You're going to need about $2K worth of H-beam connecting rods and forged pistons. The crankshaft should be strong enough to handle the load, but the pistons and rods don't have a chance. I'm using a set of 6 1/2" long H beam rods in a stroker engine I'm building on a 261 block.

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 1,652 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 1,652 | Using a plate mounted nitrous set up on an early style stovebolt probably runs into the same issues as trying to use throttle body efi on an early stovebolt, The Siamese intake ports. Very likely to have the additional fuel injected to support the additional o2 released during nitrous burn puddle in the intake and cause a lean out, and then a melt the piston event, in addition to the rod issue identified by HRL.

So i figured why not. Ill have to look into having a plate made.
