I did not search to see if this has already been covered here on the stovebolt, so if it has, please delete or merge the info. Some of us like to keep the original look to our old trucks, and finding a paint that matches what GM used can be difficult. I did some research, and yes, this has been covered in different forums, but I just received my order of Duplicolor BNS0593 Nissan Sunlit Sand, so I thought I would share it here. Last week I found a factory door to replace the damaged door on my truck. It has the factory fawn color, as I have seen it called in other forums. I am not an expert on the different names of the paint colors used over the years. That said, I took one of the cans out to the door to see how well it matched the old factory paint. To my amazement it is a perfect match. I painted the small area above the odd-shaped hole. You cannot see a difference from the old 60s paint and the new sunlit sand paint.

Yes sir, 65 or any other year they may have used that for the interior. Or if you wanted to just paint the interior of a truck that color, or some particular items the same color as the interior paint, one could do that, too. I may end up using that color for a couple under-the-hood items.

THANK YOU! You have just rubbed a bright spot on my justly deserved tarnished reputation concerning anything related to my memory. I KNEW I had found a Japanese car paint that was spot on for the mid 60's truck interior paint but insisted it was for a MAZDA. Nissan to the rescue! Badly sunlight distorted photos of a 66 we restored which is unusual for a street rod shop but kind of fun and WAY harder than street rodding where anything goes.

That interior looks sharp. All of the '65 trucks I own have had the "buttons" around the back glass. When I get my current truck, Crusty Biscuit back in order, it will have that factory A/C dash in it. That is mainly why I searched for the color, because the '65 A/C dash I have is light green, and the cab is still factory fawn. I took some Old No. 7 polishing compound to it a couple years ago and it shined up nicely. But, since I have a ton of work to do on the interior, it will get a fresh coat of paint.
