Hello, Does anyone know where I could find a wiring diagram for a town and country horn? The truck I have has the horns mounted but not wired, i have the button on the steering column but thats it. I've read that there is a switch and some kind of relay but no idea where those go. Any help is appreciated

I may have it on my other computer. If I do I'll post it. By memory it's fairly simple. Hot wire from the battery to the B post on the relay. H post on the relay to the horns and the S post on the relay to the horn button. I may also have a pic or two on the horns on my 38 that show the wiring. I'll post them as well but they too are on the other computer.

Sadly my result is no on both. I have the diagram, it came with my harness, but I've not scanned it into my computer. Also the pictures I have would be helpful if you already know where everything goes but little help here. I did find a thread over on VCCA chat covering this subject and it has several wiring diagrams in the thread you may find useful. https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/topics/418140/wiring-harness-for-town-and-country-horns.html

My truck is a 1939 ton and a half, you'd think I'd remember to put that in my posts. Its has the original 216 and a 6v alternator (at least it will as of tommorow). I just put in a new harness from chevs of the 40s, this horn was an accessory so no provision for it in the harness, just for the stock horn(which I don't have). I should be able to post pictures of what I have tommorow. Thank you
Do you have the factory bracket? Do you intend to only use the accessory horns, bypassing the need for the "Town & Country Horn Switch"? If so the wiring is straight forward. You'll need to run a heavy wire, probably 12 gauge, from the battery lug on the starter switch to the B terminal on the horn relay. Then run two wires, one to each horn, from the H terminal on the relay. Finally run a lighter gauge wire from the S terminal on the relay to your horn button. Unfortunately the pictures below weren't taken to specifically show the horns and relay wiring but you can get an idea of the setup. You can see the wire with an in-line fuse from the starter switch to the relay and how the horns mount. Hope it helps.

You can add it to your signature like I did.

I have those horns on my '37 and they were an accessory for that year, don't know about '39. These are the same horns as Town and Country but not called that (at least in '37); essentially just dual horns. There was not a special switch like you have for Town and Country horns. Follow Tiny's advice for wiring. You will probably have to provide a wire for the horn switch, extending from where the horn wire exits the bottom of the steering column, over to the relay. Kent

Not the best pictures but this is what I have, I will use whats been posted here and try and use my steering wheel horn button, thanks for posting where the wires go, I'll post my results.
Town and country horns from GM are trumpet style. I am not sure those that are pictured are even from GM. Regardless, the wiring should be the same. Kent

Huh, didn't realize they were not even GM horns. They are trumpet style but the (diaphram?) is mounted differently. This truck was a fire truck at one point in its life, maybe they were put on then? I'll have to look them over and see if I can find a name. I'm going to guess that the box on top is some kind of relay, I'll clean it up and see what it is. Thanks for all the help
Horn seems to be working now, I've attached a picture of how I connected it, red is power, grey goes to the horn button and both horn wire are on the same terminal. I don't have a switch so both horns blow when the button is pressed. It's not perfect but it works for my needs until I decide to restore them later.
