Working on my project and plan on driving my 51 with a 250 without a heat system. Was going to plug the inlet and outlet ports but got looking at it and they seem to be always circulating coolant even if the thermostat is closed. It appears I have to have lines in bypass and can't plug. Is my thinking correct on this? Thanks Dan

The block and water pump have a bypass hole in them to circulate water. I have a heater in my truck, but the hose has a shut off valve thats always closed in the summer, so its the same as being plugged.

The way it shows in the picture is fine ,it is omitting the heater core .When you get a heater keep the copper plumbing and hose for if the heater leaks for a emergency fix.
