I was looking at this but not sure of the clearance I have will be enough. I called CPP (terrible experience to be honest, was on hold for over one hour and that was after numerous messages and emails were never returned). The tech said it has 5.9" of clearance from the flange to the furthest point opposite but was unsure if that included the bolts or not???

I have about 1" of clearance right now with my exhaust manifold to the existing steering box. I have a Big Block and using corvette exhaust manifolds that give me very good clearance as opposed to original stock exhaust manifolds.

Even with the corvette manifolds I just dont know if this unit will fit. If anyone has this installed could you please give me some measurements of how much space it takes up starting from the inside of the frame rail where the flange bolts up?

That steering box is an aftermarket reproduction of the 84-87 Toyota steering box. It is sold by a variety of vendors and is also known as a 500 series. I have the original version of the Toyota box in my 56 which I installed in 2000. It has been trouble free. The box is close to the left rams horn manifold but clears ok. The later version moves the box closer inside the frame which may clear a big block. I have not seen one installed on a TF truck with a big block so I could only speculate as to the clearance. If you only have about 1" of clearance now it likely won't work.

It might help others help you if they knew what truck you are working on...the kit says 1960-72.

Yes the link does say 62-72 but the kit is 55-59.
