Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!
| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2021 Posts: 9 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2021 Posts: 9 | Hi, I had posted back about a decade ago when I had imported a 1937 and a 1970 Chev from Switzerland. I sold those way back and just bought a 1949 3600 pickup. I know what a great resource this forum is and hope I can add to it.
I do have a couple questions:
Is there a VIN decoder link?
How do I find the rear axle model? I can do the string around the driveshaft check for ratio.
I'll do a dual circuit master and front disc swap first. Anyone have a vendor recommendation?
Gotta fix the emergency brake too. Hardware is missing inside the drums.
Thanks in advance. Chris Elliott

Congrats on your truck. Make it a happy journey...just use a little patience and work on it at least 15 minutes every day and it'll surprise you in a week. See you around the garage.

I have what I thought was a nearly fully restored 3600 that looks great so why have I spent the last 6 weeks crawling around and under it and listening for the UPS truck? Just kidding. I spend my days working for a truck upfitter handling four gas/electric utility customers so I needed a project that didn't involve being asked where are my trucks and why aren't they done. That and it needed to be any color but white.
The picture in the left margin that says Stovebolt calendar could have been taken of my truck but without the bumper guards. I'll post a couple pictures but I'm searching for the ever elusive HO52 pumpkin with 4:10 gears first. | | |
