Am looking at a 2 ton Chevy at the moment and don't have any info on them. When I search for Chevy Trucks all I get are the light pickups (zillions of books). Can anyone suggest some good books on the larger Chev trucks?

I have a 1963 Chevy Truck Shop manual that I bought from gregsonline and it covers quite a bit about my 1964 and 1966 Chevy C60's...

Best money I had spent in a long time...

Albatross -- First, welcome to the Stovebolt Page!

Now about those books, you're in luck! Motorbooks international has just released the second edition of Tom Brownell's "How to Restore your Chevrolet Pickup." In it, he's added a whole new section on the Big Iron.

If you go to The Motorbooks International Site you should see it listed there under the Featured Books.

Now, as for reference material, you're pretty much out of Schlitz. Some of the pickup books have some limited info, but most shy away from anything bigger than a one-ton. Why? My guess is because there was too much diversity in the big truck lines. The pickups are easy to research because they're all pretty standard.

Be sure to look in our Tech Tips and Features for more info related to big Stovebolts. The guys here are pretty good (they could be better wink ) about sending in Tech Tip articles about the bigger trucks.

Hope this helps,
John
