I am a bit confused as to how this cardboard glove box attaches in this 1950 Chevy 3100. I bought the attachment screws but the holes are bigger then they are. Is there suppose to be a clip that slides over to provide the threads?

It appears you may be missing the metal inserts for the screws. Or maybe you got an earlier glovebox liner that attaches differently. Jim Carter Lists a 47-49 liner and the notes say "Uses an inside metal band to secure it to opening in dash."
Here's photos of my original '51 glove box and replacement. Note that the replacement indicates '50-'53.

where did you purchase that liner? It looks like better quality then what I have. I went to the website listed in your photo but it looks like it's for dealers only.

I used my old glovebox liner as a mold and wrapped fibreglass and painted it black after it is a lot stronger than cardboard
