Got to replace the door windows in my 50 so what do you folks use to secure the top frame to bottom frame? Some of the parts vendors have a barrel sleeve and bolt but could I just use a small bolt and nut?
I was also thinking of using RV silicone in the frame, anyone have any issues with that?

Joe, it's been a while since I replaced my passenger door window and I recall removing and re-using the proper screws and barrel nuts. I'm not sure there's room for a nut? The barrel nut seems like the way to go and at $6.00 for a set..........You might check a hardware store for replacement screws and barrel nuts. The barrel nuts and screws really maintain the integrity of the window frame when properly secured.

If you can use a small screw and nut that doesn't interfere with the window glass, it may be worth a try.

Mine had a type of thin roll pin, so I had to drill them out to get the frame apart.
I’ll check the hardware stores to see if I can find the barrel sleeve, I can order some but would probably pay more for the shipping than what they cost

Pay the money for the proper fasteners. It will add years to the end of your life.
I used Black RTV for the glass in the frame. Let it completely set and then remove the excess with a razor blade.
