Can I install a 12 volt battery to kick the starter over and install a 6 or 8 volt shunt in the main power line?
If so, does anyone have a part number?
I plan doing a 12V conversion after I get the truck running and sorted out.
And all dispersions and advice welcome.

You need to provide only 6 volts, however you do it, to the fuel gauge, otherwise you will kill it, should be a colored tag on the terminal advising that fact, Jim Carter truck has that resistor for gauge. Resistor to feed heater, wipers, etc. Change bulbs.
There used to be a square ceramic resistor(about 4” x 4” square) no longer in production that had several taps, however they appear from time to time.

Nice clean changeover !! 12 volt will really whip it over,my 7 are all that way. | | |
