Thread title is just like they say about gold. Was visiting a friends salvage yard yesterday in search of a small part and I stumbled upon a complete, no rust (casual look only) GMC 300. Had been there many times just never at that exact spot.

So don't pass up those small country yards up if interested in our old trucks. If I needed a project, I could see an afternoon with a cut'n torch and back hoe (for the heavy lifting) prepping the GMC for a flatbed as a very likely project at my place.

Some buried 60-66 treasure in there as well. Nice to know they are still to-be- found

Cool old truck!
I'd be curious to know what type of body was originally on the back, with those wide running boards. Fire truck maybe?

Rich, firetruck is right. If you can zoom in on the bottom of the door you can just about make out FIRE DEP.

OK, I see it now. I had to save the picture to our computer, then I could zoom in on it. Thanks, Ron!

Nice picture Ron, really captures the essence of the place. My fondest old truck extractions have required a chainsaw.

A number of years ago I was at Mongo's yard near Kansas City. The more you looked in the trees, the more old stuff you could find. At first glance it seemed like maybe 10 trucks, but was more like 50. I actually found some Fulton visor center brackets that had eluded me for a long time.
