Use a puller bolted into the threaded holes in the center hub, and DON'T hammer on the outside ring of the damper. You'll break the pulley section loose from the rubber ring that separates it from the hub. To reinstall it, use a driver that puts the hammer blows on the center hub, and use a heavy sledge and medium-force taps to force-fit it back onto the crankshaft. While you're in there, it's a good idea to convert the two bottom holes in the timing cover to bolts threaded in from the front, rather than having them come through from inside the oil pan. There's probably a procedure archived somewhere on this site for that procedure. Jerry
