Hello all! I'm going to build a stand for my 261 block. I'm interested in a minimalistic design, that will set on a 4 wheel dolly. Can anyone here provide pics of what they've done, or a set of plans with dimensions? Thanks!
If you want just a stand for the engine to sit on and not a stand where you could rotate it, the is a tech tip on how to build a stand for a 235. I believe the 261 is a very similar so I’m sure you could either use it “as is” or modify it to fit. Here is a link. "Engine Dolly"

The engine stand link Phil gave will work for any Chevrolet 6-cylinder or V8 without modifications...I've built a few of these, some with wheels and some without. Every time I sell an engine the new owner always talks me out of the stand so they have a safe way to transport the engine home.

here is mine made mostly out of an old cherry picker. I made it so I can still get the oil pan off. I will make a mount for the trans when I get that far. I will probably put outriggers on it when I get the the blower on it .
That's pretty cool! For my purpose, I'll make a quick and cheap wood stand for now, but if I ever get more space in my garage, I'd like to display my original 235 on something like that!
