Doing the guages on my '15 3/4 ton 5 window and redoing the decals on the guages. Its a '51, but has a rebuild '62 235 in it from Automotive Engineering as noted by the tags down by the starter and the new stamps. I have a choice of the 0-30# sticker to put on the guage or or 0-60# decals. I imagine the requilt came with a higher pressure oil pump to give over 30#s. but not sure that the gauge was swapped out (does it matter?. What to do. It's been a minute but I remember the guage going to 30#s. Could it go higher I imagine. Any thoughts about what decal to put on it. ?
Thanks SN !!

If it's the original 30# gauge any pressure above 30 will peg it but any reading below 30 will be as accurate as the gauge ever was. It's easy enough to find a 60# gauge so that's what I'd do. You'll have a more or less accurate reading at both cold and hot temperatures. Do you know what the actual pressure readings on your engine are?
You can get a replacement 60 lb gauge from Jim Carter for less than $50. If I had a higher pressure engine, I'd go with the 60 lb gauge.

Thanks Jim and Kevin. I dont see if down low, in the 10-20# range, it's typically on the upper end, I think you are right Jim that it's hopefully the oil pump for the 235. I'll change out the gauge to the higher range. Thanks. That problem is fixed.... Clem
