Can anyone confirm that the metering rod gauge for the Carter (W-1) 420-S is a Carter T109-26? Thank you.

I can confirm that it is NOT!

The gauge used for the 420s is T109-25.

The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.

Hello Jon,

Thank you for the correction... Interesting fact that it is the same tool used for the Carter (W1) 391-S... The T109-26 is used on the Carter WO carburetors, it seems...

Generally, only one or sometimes a couple of metering rod gauges, will be used on virtually all Carter carburetors of a given type.

Thank you for the education here, after some consideration, it would make sense that the W1 carburetors would use the same metering rod tool...

The T109-26 is used on some (not all) of the W-0 carbs.

We sold out of these (about 75 units) to the Jeep folks.

Someone has reproduced them somewhere, even to the Carter logo on the tool, and are being offered at ridiculously low prices.. Have not seen any of the repros, so cannot comment on the quality of this unit, but a lot of repro stuff like this is not overly great quality. This post information only, again, we are sold out of this tool.

Jon.
