The Stovebolt Site Forums The Side Lot Southern Bolters Another Southerner

Just saying hello from another Southerner who just joined the forum.

My wife, Joanie, and I live in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, just South of Myrtle Beach. And, Joanie just purchased herself a 1942 3/4-ton "Christmas Tree Truck." Something she has wanted for a long time. The truck arrived last night from California and is in very good shape. There's no discernible rust, and the body needs very little...not much more than a couple scratches, and a cut and buff.

There will be some minor modifications to make it a regular driver, (engine, trans, power steering, AC/heat, brakes, seatbelts, etc.). If anyone is familiar with a good shop or mechanic near us, please let us know. Even an independent guy or someone out of work from the shutdowns who needs to earn some cash. Workspace and shop equipment are not an issue. We have a 40'x30' garage is heated, cooled and dedicated to wrenching. There's also a 14' lift and I am just finished building a little sports car from the ground up there that's ready for paint. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with these vehicles or making them better drivers enough to want to dig into it by myself. ()

We're looking forward to meeting others and visiting some shows. In fact, there's one just ten minutes from us this Saturday in Murrells Inlet, SC. If you see a grey/blue truck with red artillery rims and big whitewalls, that's us, say hello :-) Also, if you're in the area and need a lift or tool or a clean place to make a quick repair, we're happy to help.

There now has to be several Southern Bolters in the Myrtle Beach, Shallotte as well as other area's like yours. Keep watch for them..........heck, I'd even drive down from Spartanburg for a Southern Stovebolt reunion!!

Welcome to the site. There are many "Southern Bolters" on the site , we are spread out a bit though. We are looking at gathering for the Southeastern GM Truck Nationals in Lebanon Tn. While the plans are coming together for that feel free to just post a drive in meet at somewhere local, if you post some information I'm sure a few would here would join you. Welcome to the "BOLT".
