I took my 1950 3100 seat apart 20 years ago and finally I am trying to get it back together. I have the cable adjustment system in it. The passenger side track has no stops to catch that side of the seat and also no lever on the track to engage it. Is this correct? It looks like when I reassemble it will only be secured on the drivers side. Also, the springs I found in my parts box are only 7" long and it looks like they should be closer to 8". I will keep looking. On top of this I moved to a different state, so my parts got shuffled more than once.

Also, it looks like there should be 2 pins on each seat track to keep the top and bottom pieces together when assembled. I am not finding those, so if someone could post those a picture of those I would appreciate it.
Jerry, I can only answer your first question. You are correct; the passenger side has no stops or lever. This is only on the driver's side. Although there are holes for springs on both sides I would put only a spring on the driver's side. The spring or springs pull the seat forward. With two springs I couldn't push hard enough to set the seat as far back as it would go. So I don't recommend two springs and it doesn't need to be real stout. Go to a good hardware store and find an appropriate spring. To make it easier to install, do it with the seat all the way forward. Kent

I'm not sure this helps, but these are the wheels and shafts that go between the seat tracks. The other pieces will lock the wire in place. With new wire and corner wheels rotating seat moves easily. Right end follows the left end where the position lock is.
I've been looking for the "pull seat forward spring". Never seen a picture of it nor quite sure where it is supposed to go. Any pictures you could share?
Thanks for the picture of the wheels and shafts. I am not sure how those fit into the top and bottom of the seat adjustersand if 1947 was the same as 1950 3100. I am making some 5/16" dowels 1 1/4" long to put in to hold the top and bottom together on each side. If you have a picture of how those pins and wheeels fit in I would sure like to see it.
As for the springs, I found the ones that were in my truck, so I am set on that. I have been looking at Denny Grahams pictures and they have helped a lot. Here is a link that shows one of those springs in place:
If you look at the next few pics he has you will see the dimensions of the spring so that you could get one or two at your local hardware store. There is an error I think in one of his pics as it has the same length dimension for stretched out vs. compressed in succeeding pictures. It is obviously longer stretched.
Sorry, I can't get to them as they are inside the tracks. Tracks are completely surrounding those wheels so they are not even visible without dismantling them completely. My best questimate is: Wheels 9/16", shaft center 5/16", shaft ends 1/4".
My tracks are different than these in Denny*s pictures Seat tracks. So if you have this shape, my set of wheels would not work.
Finn, Thanks again for the pic. It finally clicked tonight in my head that I have seen something like that here in a bag down in my basement. I now have the wheels and pins!! I will clean them up tomorrow and get the seat frame put back in the truck. FYI, the wheel measured about .730". Your other measurements were pretty much spot on. This big jigsaw puzzle has been a challenge.
