For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 97 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 97 | When I bought my truck it was already lowered (the wrong way). The springs were heated so bad they look like twisted up pretzels. The stance of the truck is pretty good but ride quality suffers. I am planing on doing all the suspension at one time (bushings, ball joints, end links, springs, shocks ect..) But what I am not sure of is how far they lowered this truck.
From the ground to the bottom of the front wheel well is 26 1/2". The ground to the bottom of the rear is 24". Would somone mind measuring their truck (lowered or not) and let me know where it is at (if lowered please mention your drop). Thanks a ton.

Mine is a 51 so I'll sit this one out. Except to say, all I did was to swap the rear springs from above the axle to under, and the front is a MII which lowered the front 2".

I measured my '62, and it is stock height as far as I know. I measured from ground to bottom of the fender lip 29 inches both front and rear. Truck has stock springs and T-bars, so they may have settled a little since '62.

Gazim, Your saying at 24" you are 2" bellow stock? That front must be burried!!!
