Hi all! I'm getting ready to plumb my remote filter. I can use 8an or 10an. Is the restriction difference enough to worry about? I have the fittings for 8an tubing, but am wondering if I should get new fittings and use 10an. Thoughts?

AN fittings are measured in 1/16" increments, so a #8 line is the equivalent of 1/2". That should be plenty of volume to support a full flow system. All a #10 line will do is contain a few ounces more oil, with no real advantage at the pressure and flow rate of the 261 oil system. Be sure the dowel pin in the flow control system is in the "in" position, as that's the only way a 261 will function as a full flow oil circuit.

'51Bowtie, to your question, here is a 261 block, driver's side view, showing the dowel pin pushed in for full flow filtering (green arrow). In this configuration, the two NPT threaded ports (blue arrows) must be connected either through a full flow filter or at least with a length of pipe or hose, 1/2" ID, in order for oil to reach the oil galleries and bearings.
