The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Big Bolts Side cowl vent reinstall

Hey guys. So I took my 47 loadmaster 2 ton apart about 3 years ago. Got it painted and putting back together. How in the heck do I get that driver side vent installed? It looks simple. Just 2 screws that attach to the handle inside by your left knee. There seem to be some kind of springs on the vent itself that would need to open a bit to get it lined up but I’m scratching paint trying to force this thing in there. What am I missing?

I don't know if it is The same as my 1955 first series. I'll check my master parts catalog and get back to you

The two screws attach to the vertical bracket, then you install the handle screws with the vent pulled full open.

There is no real adjustment on the springs they just need to be hooked up correctly and unbent (they were eliminated by mid-‘49).

Thanks Brad. That first link is super helpful. For more than just the vent. I didn’t move those other 2 screws when I removed it so I didn’t try to mess with them. I’ll give it a shot. It feels like the springs are too closed and I can’t get the vent in the opening. Maybe adjusting those other screws will do something
