It had a high pressure 235 in it. The carb is a Carter BB-1, would that be the original carb off of the 216 or would it be the original carb for the 235? Dave
Would the carb off of the 216 have a different bolt pattern for the manifold than if it was for a 235?

No 2 ton Chevrolet trucks, ever had a 216 in them. Chevrolet's first 2 ton rated trucks appeared in 1946. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 | But Spanky this is a high pressure 235. 1941 Chevy"First rebuild - complete!"Follow the story in the DITY1941 GMC resting peacefully 1946/1947 Chevy Street rod on s10 frame complete 1945 GMC panel truck in line for restoration 1941 Plymouth stock complete 1941 GMC COE in restoration processRead his Project Journal1941 Chevy Coe uncertain future resting now

I have no intention of using it, if I try to sell it I want to represent it correctly. I do not know much about it. Would the carb to manifold bolt pattern be like the ones on downdraft stovebolt that changed when they went from the 216/235 low pressure engines to the 235/261 high pressure engines. I don't have those dimensions off the top of my head. The 54/55.1 Carter 2045, mounts facing forward, because the air cleaner is under the hood. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 | All I see on the carb I only see BB-1 and D or O. - 456. And today I compared it to a rochester that came off of a high pressure 235 and the Rochester patern is wider. Would this mean it came off of a 216 low pressure engine? 1941 Chevy"First rebuild - complete!"Follow the story in the DITY1941 GMC resting peacefully 1946/1947 Chevy Street rod on s10 frame complete 1945 GMC panel truck in line for restoration 1941 Plymouth stock complete 1941 GMC COE in restoration processRead his Project Journal1941 Chevy Coe uncertain future resting now

So your carb., is probably a Carter 517, which would be from a early 235. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,554 | 1941 Chevy"First rebuild - complete!"Follow the story in the DITY1941 GMC resting peacefully 1946/1947 Chevy Street rod on s10 frame complete 1945 GMC panel truck in line for restoration 1941 Plymouth stock complete 1941 GMC COE in restoration processRead his Project Journal1941 Chevy Coe uncertain future resting now
