Looking at different AD trucks I've noticed that the chain hooks for the tailgate go either way depending on how you like them. I have mine (Red truck) latched in from the outside. The green truck is from an online video of a 1949 barn find with the hooks latched in from the outside in. When these ole AD trucks rolled of the assembly line how where the chain hooks installed?

FWIW ... Inner to outer is the only way my gate will stay latched. Outer to inner and they will fall out ... As I discovered halfway across the US 301/Potomac River Bridge once ...
