I've browsed off and on for quite a while but figured I'd sign up.
I hope I'm not too off topic but I've got a 1962 Pontiac Stratochief with a 261 and I love seeing what guys do with these old engines. I've done a bit to mine and recently got some timing advice/hard info from the guys in the Engine forum which was great.

Now, please don't take his to hard, or be soured on the Stovebolt but we are and old truck site. However, you are welcome to ask Pontiac questions in the greasy spoon forum........Now, since you have an old Chevy 261 engine in your car you can ask questions about is since they came in Chevy trucks. Just don't say its in a Pontiac.
(I actually have a 261 in my 50 Chevy Coupe) I ask questions about the engine in the engine/electrical forums but I just don't mention its in a car!!!
To help me with my car, I joined the VCCA, Vintage Chevy Club of America. Perhaps you can find one similar to your Pontiac, which by the way I think is a great looking car. One just never crossed my path.
We have some great guys here and willing to help so get to know us. Look around and after you have made 4 moderated post you can send anyone a PM and enjoy all Stovebolt has to offer.
