What’s everyone doing for carpet? I have a 54 3100 with a SM420 4-on the floor (so trans cover has a hump). Trying to keep fairly color coordinated with brown.

Molded carpet is available from all the typical vendors.

PS. Good luck finding one with a high hump... seems like a tough search right now.

You did not mention it but before put carpet in, put down sound and heat pads in. I took mine to an upholstery shop.

Depending on what you are doing/using truck for..
I put sound barrier down...then the molded "rubber" mat.
My truck is used on our ranch..So...I can "hose" it out if needed...
Put carpet in and it would be impossible for me.
But that is just my 2 cents.

I have to use rubber flooring also I work at a rock crusher very dirty.

Can you 'mold' your own carpet? Like with a steamer or something?

I've had no luck finding anything for my '49 3600 with the 4 speed. The tall tunnel really kills any pre-made options.

I ordered a carpet from the Tucker Parts link that GMJager posted. The only color on offer (on the website) for "high hump" floor shifter installations ('49 3600 SM420) came in blue, which worked out fine for me.

When the carpet arrived it looked good, had insulation on the back, good binding, but no cutout for the floor shifter. I called Tucker Parts to see if they maybe sent the wrong one, but no, they don't cut out for the shifter, in case someone has modified their truck to a column shifter. They also said that there's practically no difference between 'high' and 'low' hump and that the rubber mat they sell is the same for both. Lastly, they said you can have any color in the high hump version, you just have to call it in as they haven't gotten around to programming it into the website.

Thats strange as I’ve never seen a 4-speed column shifter in a AD truck! In the case a SM-318 was installed one would think that you would also install the 3-speed transmission cover.

I would love a 4 on the tree! But alas, no such thing. The carpet guys were referring to folks who delete their 4 spd in favor of an automatic.

It kinda makes sense but I would still get the three speed tranny cover as it has no hole to patch.
