Was thinking of disc brakes on the stock 49. Watched a few videos and although all kit manufacturers claim they are bolt on it appears not quite so. On the Brothers video the talk about checking for clearance between the caliper and the wheel rim. But they don't say what to do if it rubs. Also it seems that there can be clearance issues between the caliper and the tie rod ends. Then it states that you have to use the existing hubs.
Are there any kits that are true bolt-in? Have the same question for dual master cylinder upgrade.

Don’t think there’s any thing that is true “bolt on”.........things like drill hole, change a brackets and shim a part are all part of the game. Of course Bend and reroute brake lines is also part of the game.

Classic Performance Parts hub kit came with roller bearing there was 1 hole that had to enlarged. ( that was several years back.)

As far a wheel clearance to the caliper or tie rod most of those issue are with 15” rims.

My Classic Performance Parts kit for the stock hubs was about as close to true bolt on as I could find for my 65. I had to grind on the caliper brackets a little to fit around anomalies in the spindle.

FYI... their prebent brake line kits are by the hair of a gnats butt.

Put Classic Performance Parts disc brakes on my stock 49-3100 two years ago. Could not be happier with the kit and performance. Kit went on with no modifications. I had to get new wheels to compensate for the off set I knew that before I started so I was ready with the new wheels.
