Before I drop my oil pan, is it possible to access the front crank bearing without removing the front motor mount? There is one position that the crankshaft needs to be turned to allow the main cap to tilt and clear the motor mount. That procedure was discussed just a few days ago in another thread.

They have 1/2" hex heads, and I believe there is a locking tab that must be bent away from the bolt heads to get a wrench onto the bolts. Sometimes it's necessary to pry or tap on the cap, as there is a gasket between the cap and the timing cover that can stick them together if sealer was used when the cover was installed.

The right side is completely free, the left side will only come down about 1/8 inch. I can slide it forward and back, but it will not come down. It's a close fit, but it can be done.
