| | | | Joined: Oct 2000 Posts: 98 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2000 Posts: 98 | I just bought some headers for my 250 from ftyler. Now to install them. I have read somewhere that you should replace the alignment pins that are in the front and back of the head with actual bolts or studs.
Is this necessary to get a good seal?
What is the process and recommended bolt/stud?

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,193 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,193 | The pins are just 3/8" bolts turned down. Yes they unscrew, but there is coolant behind them! You need to use thread seal on the new bolts, atleast on one of my heads I did. I would all so use plenty of high heat sealer on the gasket, both sides and tighten the bolts alittle at a time working across the header flange. Joe | | |
