It’s driveable......for about 150mi at a shot. Then it needs a tank of fuel, a half gallon of water, 3 quarts of oil and 2 front tires.
Get new tires. Check for oil leaks. (if you need gaskets, replace them). Check for water leaks. See what need to be repaired/replaced. Tune the engine.
Then, report back.
Unless you are bound and determine to "modernize", get it running like it was made to run.

I’m using modernize very loosely. It needs to get legal and reliable. So, 12v, Pertronics/hei, electric wipers, new rear end with better gearing, disc brakes and dual circuit.....that type of modern. I’m not heading down the S10 swap road. I want to keep this as a 3/4T truck to do truck things with. Maybe sometime down the road add 4wd to it with a little lift.
AweDang, you should consider making the trip to Clearbrook Va for the TriState truck show. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of AD trucks such as yours,along with a very knowledgeable,friendly group. You can find details in the ODSS forum. Nice Truck, I would get it running , stopping and driving and then start making plans for upgrades. A lot of things change once you start working on it.
