Good afternoon, I found this casting imprint (outprint) on my 216 and I was wondering if anyone can decode it for me. It is on the engine behind where the starter lives.

CON1 is the sand casting/foundry conveyor number
B 26 1 is the date code (Feb 26 1941 or 1951) would need to see the actual engine casting number to determine the correct year.
Look further forward on the block for the 7-digit casting number.

Thanks Mike, the plate behind the distributor is JBA 413562, so it's a 1951 216.
I was really hoping the 261 meant it was a 261 instead of a 216. lol
