I used the pedal assy, and booster/mc from an '86 C10 in my 48. I used a column from a late '80's van. should be the same as the truck column, only shorter. Keep in mine that I haven't driven my truck yet, but I am happy with the way that it turned out. I was not able to use the factory bracket from the van (wrong angle). I had to by an aftermarket column drop from ididit (about $75), and weld a flat piece of metal across the bracket just below the bottom of the dash. I have a Camaro clip in my truck.

Hot rodders and Street Rodders do this all the time. There any number of articles in the "Hop-up" mags such as "Streetrodder" and "Streetrod Builders". Of course your change over is going to be different, but then they all are unless your truck looks like a '32 Ford. The things to watch and plan for are all there. Such as how the steering wheel should sit in reference to the driver both distance from his gut, if he has one, and the angle the driver feels right with. Also a biggie I have seen is the number of universal joints from the end of the steering shaft to a input shaft on the steering box. I believe more than two universals and a brace is needed. I have put two into street rods and it wasn't a big deal with planning.

Im just now installing the Mustang II kit,and I think the GM column will work, Im going to to have to change the column mount and figure out how to get around the block hugger headers and tie it in on the power steering rack
Thanks
Todd
