Has anyone seen a sheet metal kit to convert a panel truck with side and rear door windows. I am looking at a solid 1940 GMC panel truck but would prefer a "suburban". If I can get it for the right price I wouldn't mind doing the conversion. I tried a few google searches but I might not be using the right search words.

Okay, point taken. It is a moot point. I just found out the current owner is very proud of this vehicle. He and his father started a restoration and the panel is a pile of parts. His father died and he lost interest. It was assembled in the pics I saw. He wants to sell it with an enclosed 24 foot trailer as a package deal. He is asking way too much. Did I say he is VERY proud of what he has. I don't think he really wants to sell it. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 1,146 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 1,146 | I am looking at a solid 1940 GMC panel truck but would prefer a "suburban".
Take the time and search/wait for a Suburban to come your way. No sense in buying something your heart is not in to. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | The 60s "Flower Children" cut all shapes of holes in the sides of panels, glued shag carpet to all the insides, and tied a surfboard to the top. Some Hollywood idiots even made films of them.
