Hey all.. As I'm hooking up the throttle linkage on my 54 235 pivot point on the engine. I seem to remember there should be a spring on it so the linkage returns after pushing on the gas pedal. Could one of you shoot me a picture of yours so that I can see where to attach the spring?
Almost done putting this engine back together. I will be firing it up this Saturday. Woot Woot!!
Mine has always been hooked at the top in the hole of the linkage tab and at the bottom I just hooked it over the lip of the oil pan. Originally there was a tab which went under one of the bolts of the oil pan, but you almost never see one of these anymore. Who knows when mine was lost?

Yes for getting the spring at your local hardware store. You can then modify as needed the spring ends, etc. Depending where you attach the bottom end of the spring, will determine how long the spring needs to be.
