Well boys, I may very well be picking up a new project this weekend.
Its a '52 5 window one ton. I'm waiting for the estate executor to call me to meet him to take a look at it. The truck was owned by a friend of mine who passed away last Fall and I have seen pictures of them in the past. I hope its still in as good of shape as the pics which he showed me a number of years ago.
The cool thing is that I will own the truck which my friend was so fond of, but never had the opportunity to work on.

Seems like the ODSS AD 1-tons are gaining in numbers.

And the good news for you is that the One-Ton Club's Ownership Committee met in special session and we were able to fast track your membership application. We are still waiting on your final application form (that 234-page form you should have received), DNA sample and fee, but I am very pleased to inform you that you have a really good shot at receiving the committee's recommendation for membership when your package is forwarded to the Executive Council for Membership Affairs for final review! Harrumph! So you should be relieved to not have THAT monkey on your back at least.

With the Membership Committee's recommendation for Membership Approval, you are then awarded One Ton Club "Interim Probationary Membership" status. With that in hand, you are allowed to purchase a truck. Whether or not you get to keep the truck depends on the executive council's final decision. Usually, with a good recommendation from the committee and all your paperwork and dna samples in order, there is a 75 percent probability we will grant you full membership... so feel free to make the buy worry free. If you fall into the 25 percent category (But I wouldn't worry about that. Much) we will be glad to help you find a forever home for the truck and happily give you a coupon good for a 10 percent discount in our gift shop in appreciation of your fostering a truck.

My DNA sample will be saliva, delivered by natural means from 6 feet away to stay within Safe Distancing Guidelines. Beechnut is said to not alter the quality of the sample. Bystanders beware, however.

Chest thumping aside, let's call this pro tempore session of the ODSS Disciplinary Committee to order ... If I may have the floor ...

Mr. Sergeant at Arms, in my appointed office of ODSS Attorney General, it has come to my attention that we have a potentially serious issue before us. To ameliorate and diffuse what could be a very explosive and divisive matter, may I ask that you present President Cosmo with a request to issue a Presidential Order compelling Carl to produce IMMEDIATELY photographic evidence of the truck under consideration by him for purchase/use as grounds for his membership application to the tres exclusive (use of the French language here not only connotes sophistication but also underscores the gravitas .... ooooh! Latin!!! ... of the matter before us) 1-Ton Club? If this request is acceptable, then I so ask.

Furthermore, if Carl does NOT immediately produce the aforementioned imagery, may I humbly petition the court to issue him a *very* stern and stinging verbal admonishment by you (as the foremost officer of the court) and that his ODSS 1-Ton Club Membership Application be immediately sent to the bottom of the stack/possibly "lost"?

I also call for the floor to be closed to further discussion (except by you or Mr. Marlow) as there can be no excuse, no justification for this egregious and outrageous flouting of our time-honored protocols. Harrumph.

What if he just cut and pasted a representative picture from Pintrist to get you boys off his back? I would have thought he would have mentioned a few of the unique details of the truck prior to throwing any-old picture at you. It's yellow, that's a detail that could have provided some verification.

I am leaning toward a one ton stepside.
The sheet metal is amazingly straight and sound without any Bondo as far as I can tell from a magnet test.
The yellow clearly needs to go.

Brother Hambone raises a valid point that still needs to be addressed. And the image's "patina" suggests that it may not be a recent image. I think we need to see a recent image that clearly shows Carl standing next to the truck. Maybe a hand written note from his wife that attests to legitimacy.

You can't really knock Carl for possibly resorting to desperate measures here ... membership in the 1-ton club *is* highly sought after. Many are called, few are chosen ...

I request that you add a few details to your request. Telling him that he needs to stand next to the truck leaves many undesirable options open. I suggest adding while ... maybe holding up a printed paper with date of picture.
